For more than 25 years the lectures on Experimental Physics 1 and 2 of the late Prof. Helmut Jäger served as profound standard education in the fields of Physics at Graz University of Technology. Clear, well-structured and supported by many demonstrational experiments, the fundamentals of Physics and their technical aspects have been conveyed to students of different fields of study. Following a wish of Prof. Jäger the present version of his annually revised scripts is published in book form.
The first volume Experimental Physics 1 is dedicated to the principles of mechanics and the fundamentals of oscillations, waves, geometrical optics and relative motion. The second volume Experimental Physics 2 is dedicated to thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism and selected topics af atomic and nuclear physics. The lecture material is illustrated by numerous figures, hints to demonstrational experiments are explicitely given. Thus, the present books may serve as valuable and well-proven learning tools, in addition to current lecture notes.
