This book documents the extraordinary results of architecture students at Graz University of Technology, who carried out the entire process of innovative timber constructions from idea to realisation. An entrance portal, a bridge, mobile accommodation, interactive installations and a unique wooden sauna were designed using parametric 3D modelling and fabricated using classic woodworking methods and computer-aided manufacturing technology. The buildings were erected in the park of Lackenbach Castle. The students mastered all the challenges of the real construction world and gained valuable practical experience. The intensive combination of theory and practice was supported by co-operation with experienced craftsmen and the real estate division of the Esterhazy companies. This is a unique opportunity for students at a faculty of architecture, as they learnt indispensable skills in working with wood as a building material.
